We had originally booked another DJ for our wedding who was a family friend. The venue manager turned our DJ away because he could not provide an insurance certificate or an electrical safety certificate although no mention was made of this when we booked the room, the manager said he could get someone in but the price was extortionate. I won’t mention the hotel name here but their FaceBook page took a blasting from all our friends and family. We were frantic I was seeing red with the manager and thought our night would be ruined. We called some DJs but they were booked or did not have the insurance. One of my bridesmaids (Rhian I Love you) found a site that listed local DJs who were insured mobile DJ network or something like that I think. Dave called Phil at Discodaze who told us he was booked on a 60s night, but would get his partner to cover his show and would setup a second show for us. He arrived about an hour later and produced the certificates for the manager. We all helped Phil bring in his equipment and it was setup and playing soon after. The disco was fantastic with a great selection of music he was even able to play the slow song we wanted for our dance. His price was very reasonable with no inflation because of our predicament and our uncomfortable situation with the other DJ and the manager was soon forgotten.
We would book Discodaze and Phil again in a heartbeat, our only regret is we did not book him in the first place. I cannot thank him enough for stepping in at the last minute and going out of his was to help us. He turned what we thought was going to be a tearful disaster into a really happy night to remember.
